For many people, meal planning and prepping may seem extremely tedious. However, it’s actually very helpful to meal plan to aid you in reaching and achieving your goals.

Whether you’re with a personal trainer, going to the gym regularly, or trying to start your fitness journey, meal planning will slowly but surely become your best friend.

Planning your meal portions and weighing all of the ingredients out, can be a great way to ensure you’re getting the right amount of calories and nutrition.

Plan meals and snacks ahead of time to increase your chance of success with weight goals.

When you meal plan and prepare portions in advance, you’re less likely to go for the ‘easy’ option and grab whatever you want to eat out of the cupboard to save time.

However, when it is right in front of you, prepared, you’ll feel a lot less inclined to.

If you’re a busy person, you’re not going to want to try and find the time out of every single day to weigh out ingredients, prep, cook, and plan.

The best advice we have is to take a chunk of time out on a Sunday and use that time to prep, cook and box up all meals for yourself ready for the week ahead.

Many meals can be put in the freezer, so you don’t have to worry about whether or not they’re still safe to eat. Just make sure you put date labels on every tub.

When we’re busy, it can be easy to fall into the trap of cooking the same food every day.

However, with the art of meal planning, you can enjoy more of the foods you love, more often, without getting bored.

Save money

Meal planning can help you to avoid wastage, due to the correct amount of ingredients being used for specific meals.

This means that ultimately, you will be saving a lot of money, and who doesn’t like saving? Especially with the extortionate prices rising, it may be good to save a few of those extra pennies.

Reduces stress

Planning dinner can cause great amounts of unnecessary stress. Especially after being at work all day, usually comes the dreaded question “what are we having for tea tonight?”

It’ll make your life easier when all you’ve got to do when you get home is heat your pre-made healthy meal.

Then you can relax and enjoy the rest of your evening.

When doing your weekly food shop, most people throw whatever they like into the trolley and hope for the best.

Meal plans require you to note down the exact portions of which ingredients you need. Therefore shopping trips become a lot simpler when you know what you’re looking for.

This makes it easier to know exactly how much money you’ll be spending!

The more you practice meal planning, the easier it will become.

Have fun with your meal plan!

Meal planning doesn’t have to be boring, you can find ways to make it fun and more exciting each time.

Put some music on, dance around your kitchen listening to your favourite classics, whilst using a wooden spoon as a microphone (we definitely haven’t done this…) and cook up some tasty recipes.

Try some new recipes with your friends and family. Invite them over to show them your yummy cooking skills and new glorious creations.
